NEW MEMBER HELP

Are you a new member?  Not sure what to do to get started on the website?

Here’s what you need to do in order to access the membership area:

You can log in with the information we sent you in an email.  We’ve already created your account on the website!  You can login anytime by visiting https://antiquebowieknifeassociation.com/login/

(This would be a great page to bookmark for the next time you visit.)

Please change your password once you log in.   If you did not get an email, you can let us know by filling out this contact form:  https://antiquebowieknifeassociation.com/contact/ Please provide your member number when you do.

NOTE:  If the line of links at upper right does NOT include “Back Issues (Members Only)”, you are NOT logged in. Go here: https://antiquebowieknifeassociation.com/login/

Once You’ve logged in, you can:

  • Read the Journals. Once you have logged into the site, you can read all the back issues.
Click on “Back Issues (Members Only)” in the top menu.
Select the decade you want from the drop down menu.
Select the year you want from the red list of years on the page.
You’ll then be able to see the covers of all the journals for that year and the buttons to view them.
Click on the blue button to view an issue. The viewer has various features that allow you to adjust its appearance.

  • Access the forums. You must be logged in in order to view and comment on the forums.
Once you are logged in, click on “Forums” in the top menu.
This will take you to a list of all the forums (the names are in blue).
Click on the name of the forum you want.
You can click on the subtopic you want after that.
You will be able to then click on individual threads in the forum or start a new one (it’s called a ‘topic’).
The “upload attachments” will let you add a picture from your computer to the post you make (files must be under 500 KB). Those who know how to do so can also host images on another site and reference them on our site.

  • Send a message to ABKA. When you are logged in, you have access to a contact us form set up for members only.  This is great if you have a question about a membership or other ABKA needs.
Click the Contact Button in the menu.
Select “Members Only” in the dropdown
Complete the form and click submit.

If you run into questions on how to do things on the website:

Access the Knowledge Base for website support.  We’ve created a knowledge base that answers the most often asked questions about the website, like “How do you update your profile?”  This will answer most of your questions about using the site.
Select “Help” from the menu at the top.
You can select your question from the list of articles (in blue)
You can search the knowledge base if you don’t see the answer you need in the list of articles.
If you can’t find your answer in the knowledge base, complete the support form and submit it (It’s in the menu under help)

We are delighted to be able to offer you this great new benefit to your membership.  Thank you for being a member of the Antique Bowie Knife Association!
